How can we help? So that no questions remain unanswered

Do you still have questions about our stainless steel spheres, ordering or other topics? If you can't find an answer here, please don't hesitate to contact us - at KGM, no question remains unanswered.

What should you look out for when choosing stainless steel balls?

The selection of the right stainless steel ball for your application depends on various factors:

  • Application area of the stainless steel balls
  • Prevailing loads and forces acting on the ball
  • Ambient conditions such as temperature, humidity, contact with corrosive media
  • Requirement for the degree of ball accuracy

Careful consideration of all factors will ensure that the choice fulfils your requirements and that optimum performance can be guaranteed. If you are unsure about your choice or have a specific requirement, we will be happy to help you.

What is the difference between hardened and unhardened stainless steel balls?

The main difference lies in the strength and hardness of the stainless steel balls. Hardened stainless steel balls undergo an additional heat treatment process to increase their hardness and strength. As a result, they can also be ground more precisely than unhardened stainless steel balls. The increased ball hardness enables tighter tolerances to be achieved in terms of roundness, diameter deviation and surface quality. Due to the hardening, they offer a longer service life and are recommended for applications with very precise positioning requirements.

Is it possible to order samples and test balls?

Yes, it is possible to order samples.

We would like to point out that these should be requested individually, as availability and feasibility depend on the exact specifications of the desired balls.
Please contact us to discuss your enquiry and clarify the details regarding your samples. It is important to note that costs may apply depending on the specific requirements and type of ball.
Our samples are subject to the same strict quality control processes as all our products. Each individual ball undergoes a thorough final inspection to ensure it meets our high quality standards.
