KGM balls ... in detail

Stahlkugeln - KGM Kugelfabrik

Steel balls

Precision balls made of high-quality steel, whether hardened or unhardened, are characterised by their high hardness, wear resistance, and durability.

Edelstahlkugeln - KGM Kugelfabrik

Stainless steel balls

In contrast to conventional steel, stainless steel balls are the perfect choice if you need a robust and simultaneously corrosion-resistant ball.

Kunststoffkugeln - KGM Kugelfabrik

Plastic balls

The perfect choice when your balls need to be lightweight, low-noise, neither magnetic nor electrically conductive or highly chemically resistant.

Keramikkugeln - KGM Kugelfabrik

Ceramic balls

Ceramic balls have a high degree of hardness and chemical resistance - ideal for use at high temperatures and with electrical insulation.

Hartmetallkugeln - KGM Kugelfabrik

Balls made from special materials

Balls made of special materials such as high-alloy nickel materials, titanium or carbide are resistant to abrasion, temperature and corrosion.

Kugeln mit Loch - KGM Kugelfabrik

CNC-machined balls

Whether including blind holes, through-holes, featuring a flattened design, with or without threads, these components enable a wide range of solutions, including fastening, fluid conduction, and power transmission.

To ensure that no questions remain unanswered KGM explains

The KGM range comprises over 3.500 items for a wide variety of requirements. Our 2.500 international customers will find what they are looking for here. And so will you.

To ensure you have all the necessary information and to address any questions you may have, you can find detailed information about our various types of precision balls, their manufacturing processes, quality testing, and ordering procedures here.

Does KGM manufacture balls itself?

Yes - Our production process is transparent, traceable, and reliable from start to finish. We prioritise controlled processes and thorough testing procedures, as we are committed to maintaining high standards of quality and precision.

The process begins with the raw material for KGM ball production: wire.

This wire is cut into small pins, cold-formed into spherical shapes, and roughly ground to create the basic ball shape. Heat treatment follows to provide the necessary hardness. Various grinding processes then refine the dimensions, shape, and surface quality. Finally, the KGM balls undergo a multi-stage, fully electronic inspection. Only after comprehensive quality checks are the products packaged and delivered to you promptly using KGM's own logistics system.

What materials are available?

We manufacture precision balls from approximately 140 different materials, tailored to the specific requirements of each application. These materials range from everyday options to industrial and specialty materials. The most common materials include bearing steel, corrosion-resistant steels, hard metals, titanium, ceramics, and various plastics.

Given the extensive variety of materials, it is not feasible to list all of them. However, if the material you require is not mentioned on our website, this does not mean it is unavailable. Please feel free to contact us with your material specifications.

What sizes are available for the precision balls?

KGM supplies balls from 1.00 mm diameter with the highest precision and quality.

What tests and quality controls are applied to the precision balls?

In our strict quality control process, every single ball is subjected to a thorough final inspection. We carefully check the shape, dimensional accuracy, material consistency, and surface quality. Even the slightest deviations are detected, ensuring that only balls of the highest quality leave our production facility.

We conduct regular audits to continuously guarantee our quality standards. This ensures that our integrated management system meets the requirements of the international automotive standard IATF 16949, as well as DIN EN ISO 9001 and DIN EN ISO 14001 for environmental management.

These certifications and audits serve as further evidence of our commitment to producing high-quality balls and maintaining the highest standards in all aspects of our production.

Are there minimum order quantities or quantity discounts?

Please note that the minimum position value for orders is €250.

Regarding quantity discounts, we would like to emphasise that we always offer competitive prices for our high-quality precision balls. If you require larger quantities or have special requests, we will be happy to assist you in discussing customised solutions.

What delivery times can I expect for the precision balls?

The delivery times for our precision balls vary depending on the enquiry and are influenced by various factors, including the quantity ordered, the material used, and the required precision of the balls. Our company prioritises quality and conducts a thorough final inspection to ensure that every single ball meets our strict quality standards.
