How can we help? To ensure that no questions remain unanswered
Do you still have questions about our ceramic balls, ordering or other topics? If you can't find an answer here, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Precision balls made of ceramic are characterised by their:
- high hardness
- low friction
- very good corrosion resistance
- electrical insulation
- non-magnetic property.
Compared to steel materials, ceramic balls offer clear advantages in specific applications and under certain environmental conditions, especially in areas with extreme temperatures, magnetic fields or aggressive chemicals. Thanks to their excellent rolling behaviour, ceramic balls are a preferred choice as rolling elements in high-precision bearings. They are also extremely useful for surface deburring, as grinding balls and as measuring probes and calibration balls for precision instruments.
In addition to silicon nitride balls, zirconium oxide (ZrO2) and aluminium oxide (Al2O3) are also frequently used. Zirconium oxide balls are mostly used in applications where extreme hardness and chemical resistance are required, while aluminium oxide balls are extremely resistant to corrosive influences such as salts, acids, bases, vapours and gases. Due to these properties, they are used in various applications in plant and mechanical engineering. However, the choice always depends on the specific requirements of the application.
Yes, it is possible to order samples.
We would like to point out that these should be requested individually, as availability and feasibility depend on the exact specifications of the desired balls.
Please contact us to discuss your enquiry and clarify the details regarding your samples. It is important to note that costs may apply depending on the specific requirements and type of ball.
Our samples are subject to the same strict quality control processes as all our products. Each individual ball undergoes a thorough final inspection to ensure it meets our high quality standards.
